Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo reached another career milestone with his 700th goal for club and country when he scored against Ukraine in the Euro qualifiers.
The 34-year-old scored his 699th goal during the 3-0 win against Luxemburg on Friday night. However, the big goal was to qualify for the Euro 2020 and Portugal needed a win against Group B leaders Ukraine.
The home side had the better of the early exchanges and entered into a 2-0 lead courtesy goals by Roman Yaremchuk and Andriy Yarmolenko in a breathtaking first half.
Portugal pushed for a comeback in the second half inside the Stadion NSK Olimpiyskiy in Kyiv and found a way when the referee spotted a handball in the box and awarded Fernando Santos’ men a penalty. Ronaldo stepped up and dispatched the penalty with aplomb.
