Lampard aims for first win as Chelsea boss in Norwich clash at Carrow Road

Norwich were torn apart by Liverpool in thier Premier League opener at the Canaries would remember that first-half result Anfield when they host Chelsea at Carrow Road this weekend.

Although they eventually lost 4-1 on the night to last season’s runner-up, the Norwich fans were in much high spirits after their performance and Teemu Pukki’s consolation goal.

Last week they followed that result with a Teemu Pukki inspired 3-1 win over Newcastle to earn their first top flight points of the campaign.

After Pukki netted a sensational hat-trick in a game as he terrorised the Newcastle defence, fans would believe that there is no reason he cannot do the same to a fragile looking Chelsea back line on Saturday either.

Frank Lampard’s side have already conceded 7 goals in three games this season and they look like they could have let more in.

For Chelsea, this season has not been quite the fairytale start to life under the club’s record goalscorer that they were hoping for.

The Blues were demolished 4-0 at Old Trafford in Lampard’s Premier League managerial debut, and while Chelsea did show improvement last week in the European Super Cup they still lost on penalties.

His Stamford Bridge homecoming ended in frustration, with a lacklustre performance culminating in a 1-1 draw with Leicester.

Chelsea got the opener after Mason Mount pounced on a defensive error but they look so vulnerable after Ndidi’s equalizer that Leicester should beat themselves up for not getting a winner.

Lampard continues the hunt for his first win as Chelsea manager, but getting it at Carrow Road might prove difficult. Away from home, Chelsea have failed to win each of their last 5 matches.

Things get even worse when limited to Premier League fixtures, where they have won 2, drawn 2, and lost 6 of their last 10 away days.

Norwich, on the other hand, are unbeaten at home in competitive action since January, winning 8 of their 11 matches at Carrow Road since.

Team News and Predicted Lineups:

Norwich: The Canaries have no injury concerns and are likely to start the same players that demolished Newcastle last weekend.

Predicted XI: Krul, Aarons, Hanley, Godfrey, Lewis, Trybull, Leitner, Cantwell, Stiepermann, Buendia, Pukki.

Chelsea: Willian, Hudson-Odoi, and Rudiger are set to make their return from injury and the Germany international might make the starting lineup.

Predicted XI: Kepa, Emerson, Zouma, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Kante, Jorginho, Mount, Pulisic, Pedro, Giroud.

Predictions and betting tips:

Norwich have adopted an open and attacking style of play that will put pressure on the shaky Chelsea defence. The Blues have not looked particularly dangerous in attack but they can score goals.

Both teams score seem to be the best betting option for this game. Norwich are being tipped to take advantage of playing at home and get a win or a draw.
