Cristiano Ronaldo had to be escorted away by security to avoid being mobbed by fans for the second year running. Juventus were taking part in their annual friendly against their own youth side in Villar Perosa – a small commune in Turin.
Ronaldo avoided the clash with “fatigue on his left adductor” but was still in attendance to meet the fans. The game attracts local families from the surrounding area who are given the chance to meet their heroes.

But as is tradition in the clash against the club’s B team, fans stormed the pitch afterwards in a bid to get close and personal to their heroes. Ronaldo, 34, was seen looking uncomfortable as he was surrounded by the officers while fans were desperate to take selfies.
It was similar story last year but they had to abandon the game after just 20 minutes with supporters running onto the pitch to greet Ronaldo just weeks after joining from Real Madrid. The senior team ran out 3-1 winners on the day with Paulo Dybala signalling his intent for the season ahead with two.
Dybala was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and Tottenham this summer but they failed to match his wage demands. Juve boss Maurizio Sarri gave him the nod and following a good reception from the Juve crowd and he repaid their support with two in the first half.
Juan Cuadrado would grab the third following Merik Demiral’s comical own-goal. Meanwhile Ronaldo, who was given a massage by fiancee Georgina Rodriguez during Liverpool’s Super Cup win, trained on his own today as his recovery continues.
Juventus have one final friendly against Tiestina on Saturday before opening their account against Parma next Saturday.
