Super Falcons star, Asisat Oshoala came off the bench to put ‘the icing on the cake’ for FC Barcelona Femini in a 5-0 preseason victory over Olympique Marsielle Ladies on Sunday. First half goals by Aitana Bonmati, Jenni Hermoso and Alexia Putellas set the pace the Ladies as Caroline Hansen Graham and Asisat Oshoala both came off the bench the seal the victory for the Spanish side.
Oshoala who had joined her Barcelona teammates in pre-season following an extended break which she got after playing for Nigeria at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, first scored a hattrick in their in their 13-0 pre-season win over AEM Lleida last Sunday.

Lluis Cortes left the 24-year old on the bench as Barcelona started a vehement demolishing of Marsielle with Bonmati tucking in the first after just 16 minutes of action. It wouldn’t take long as Hermoso struck in Barcelona’s second just three minutes later.
Barcelona, who got to the final of the 2018/19 Women’s Champions League but lost 4-1 to Lyon, showed their dominance as Alexia Putellas tripled their lead just ten minutes before half-time.
Cortes then made eight changes to his side, bringing on Oshoala, Gemma, Jana, Marta Torrejon, Van der Gragt, Melanie, Patri, Graham, and Pina with Graham scoring the fourth for the Spanish just seven minutes into the second half.

The goal galore would end with Oshoala as the Nigerian striker received and pass from Patri Guijarro and lurk her right-footed shot into the top-right corner and beyond the Marsielle shot stopper.
Barcelona, would now take on Oshoala’s former club Arsenal Ladies on Wednesday, August 14 in another pre-season game, with the Nigerian star, expected to take part.
After failing to win any title last season, Barcelona Women will have their eyes on all the trophies they will be competing for this season. They kick off their league campaign with a home game against newly-promoted CD Tacon on Saturday, September 7.
