Emery leaves out new signings from Arsenal’s first starting XI since Iwobi’s exit

Just two days after Alex Iwobi’s exit from the club, Arsenal head coach, Unai Emery, has left out the Gunners’ new signing from its first Premier League match of the season at Newcastle United.

Iwobi left the Emirates Stadium in a £35 million move to Premier League rivals, Everton, on deadline day, after 15 years at various levels of the club.

And while a number of new faces have arrived at Arsenal, Emery has decided not to start any one of Nicolas Pepe, Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos and David Luiz against Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United.

The Arsenal boss has instead started with Matteo Guendouzi in midfield alongside Granit Xhaka while youngsters Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson are among the three attacking midfielders before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

French striker, Alexandre Lacazette, has recovered from an ankle injury but has only been named on the bench along with the likes of Emiliano Martinez and Lucas Torreira.

What are your thoughts about Emery’s selection for the match against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Sunday?
