Nigeria’s exploits at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt has yield good returns as the Super Eagles rose 12 places on the latest FIFA world ranking released by the football governing body on Thursday afternoon, July 25.
The Super Eagles crashed out at the semi-final stage to Algeria and finished in third place at AFCON 2019 following a 1-0 win over Tunisia in the third-fourth playoff clash.
As a result of Nigeria’s third place finish, the Super Eagles are now ranked 33rd in the world and remain as Africa’s third best ranked team behind AFCON 2019 losing finalists, Senegal, and the Carthage Eagles.
