Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has revealed why he is not happy with Nigeria’s outing at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Nigeria finished third in the tournament after defeating Tunisia by one goal to nothing in the Third Place game.
The former Chelsea defender admits that the team had a great tournament, but he was not happy with the third-place finish.
Aina played five games for Nigeria in what was his first Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
“We had a good run in the tournament. Yeah, if we continue working hard together and with this kind of players coming to the team. I think it is very promising,” he said, reports Daily Post.
“They were a good side. They worked hard and we work hard. We really wanted to go home with a medal or something. I think that was the difference against Tunisia.
“How I am personally, I am not happy with the bronze because I expected more, we all expected more but it is good that we didn’t go home empty-handed.”
