Inter Milan boss, Antonio Conte, has said that Romelu Lukaku would be good for his team should he join for the 2019/20 season.
Inter are in the market for the Belgian forward, but have not been able to meet United’s valuation of over £75m.
The former Chelsea boss has also said that he wanted to sign him while he was at Stamford Bridge.
“You know I like this player,” said Conte, BBC reports. “In the past when I was Chelsea’s coach [from 2016 to 2018] I tried to bring him to Chelsea.
“As I said before, I like this player and consider him an important player for us to have a good improvement but at the same there is a transfer market.
“We know very well which is our situation at the moment and we will see what happens but for now Lukaku is a United player.”
It remains to be seen if Lukaku will be a United player when the season begins, but the club are not showing strong signs they are not ready to sell.
