Ghana seal top spot in Group F after defeating Guinea-Bissau 2-0 in their last group. Andre Ayew’s early strike in the second half and Thomas Partey strike ensure the Black stars escape Super Eagles in the round of 16.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on the other hand, will meet the Super Eagles in a mouth-watering round of 16 clash after they played a dull goalless draw against West African side Benin Republic in the final round of matches in Group F.
Like most of the matches at the competition, the game started on a boring note with both sides failing to create any real chances. Cameroon who needed just a point to top the group dominated the early proceedings but failed to make it count.

Ghana finished the first 45 minutes as they best side with Guinea Bissau trying to soak up the pressure from the Black stars even though they are unlucky not to have had a goal before the halftime whistle. But Ayew’s second half goal meant the Ghanaians could topple Cameroon if they scored again.
Appiah’s men made it 2-0 in the 72nd minute with Baba Rahman being the man at the centre of wonderful play from the left setting up Partey in the box who tapped in from a close range. Ghana will face the runner up in Group E which could be the quad of Mali, Tunisia, Angola or Mauritania.
The Squirrels of Benin Republic themselves, benefited from the goalless draw with the current African Champions as their 3 points in Group means they would now face Morocco in the last 16.
