The hype surrounding the build-up of the heavyweight 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) showdown between Riyad Mahrez’s Algeria and Sadio Mane’s Senegal has attracted one of Barcelona’s star players to the June 30 Stadium, venue of the Group C clash in Cairo.

2018 FIFA World Cup winner, Ousmane Dembele, was spotted among the spectators seated close to the 22-year-old star for the top-of-the-table Group C match which is yet to produce a goal as at half time.

Dembele has some connection to the match, as his mother may be French but is also of Mauritanian and Senegalese descent, which would explain his keen interest in the encounter.
Also, the Barcelona attacker’s father is a native of Mali who are also taking part in AFCON 2019 and opened their campaign with a resounding 4-1 win over Mauritania recently. One can only imagine the banter that would have gone down following that result.
