Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo has caused a lot of controversy on social media after listing his memorable achievements in the recently concluded football season.
The Portugal captain appreciated the fans of Juventus and Portugal as he reflected on his first season in the Italian Serie A. Ronaldo helped Juventus to an eighth straight Serie A title while winning the Italian Player of the Year award, scoring 21 goals. The former Real Madrid star was fulsome in his praise of the Turin faithful, giving them credit for their support in the club’s latest triumph.
“What an unforgettable season!” Ronaldo said on his personal Instagram page. “New experiences, gigantic club, exciting city, broken records and three more titles. I have to thank all Juventus fans for the wonderful way I was welcomed in Italy! You’re an important part of all of our victories.”
Ronaldo also returned to international duty after taking a break at the end of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He captained Portugal to a win in the inaugural Nations League, netting a hat-trick to see off Switzerland in the semi-finals on home soil.
Muhammad Ali bragged to the media about being the best.

Portugal added the Nations League to the 2016 European Championships to solidify their spot as the best National team in Europe.
“Thanks to all my fans around the world and particularly to the Portuguese people who helped us win another historical win for Portugal,” the five-time Ballon d’Or winner continued. “You’ll always have a special place in my heart! Personally I’ll never forget the great moments and new record-breaking achievements I’ve had so far in 2019.”

His post has caused many users on social media to suggest that it was a PR stunt to keep him in contention for the Balon d’or at the end of the year. The former Real Madrid man has won the award a record five times alongside Lionel Messi. While the two superstars lost out to Luka Modric last year, they are not favourites to win the award this year with the likes of Virgil Van Dijk leading the race.
Ronaldo will be looking forward to working with another manager in Turin next season as Massimiliano Allegri quit the team at the conclusion of last season. Maurizio Sarri is widely expected to replace Allegri, and will hope to guide Ronaldo and Juve to Champions League glory.
