Former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has been made coach of Real Sociedad’s B team.
The offer to become Sociedad boss came shortly after Alonso finished his debut campaign with Madrid’s U-13’s by winning the Division de Honor Juvenil title at the end of March. His side finished with an impressive record of 22 wins and one draw en route to their title and Alonso’s first season as a manager was a great success.
He took to his Instagram account to send his message of thanks and gratitude to Madrid’s U-13 side.
It has also been reported that Alonso will be getting his UEFA Pro license within the next week. This will give him the right to coach in all professional divisions in Spain all the way from the third tier to the top flight (La Liga).
