Yannick Carrasco has opened the door on a possible move to Premier League side Arsenal this summer.
The Belgian has confirmed that the Gunners were interested in his signature in January, but his club president said a move would be difficult.
He currently plays for Dalian Yifang in the Chinese league and and has previously represented Atlético Madrid and Monaco.
The Arsenal squad is in need of reinforcement, and the 25-year-old midfielder is one man that can improve the Gunners squad tremendously.
According to the Sun, he said the following: “There was interest from Arsenal and I had a lot of teams in January giving me the chance to go back to Europe, but here the president said it was difficult to go then. Maybe this summer it is possible. If it is a good thing and I want to go, maybe I can speak with the president.
“I try to do my best because I am a professional for my team, after we can think about a solution. If I have a lot of teams who want me but the president decides I have to stay, I cannot do anything. All that you want is to be close to your family, and to go back to Europe is a good solution.
“I’m OK here, the club is good with me, the players and fans also are nice with me. But you know, when you are far from your family, and I think I can do good things in the European game, I am thinking it’s a solution if I can go back.”
Meanwhile, AC Milan are close to completing negotiations with Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi ahead of a transfer move this summer. They are set to battle Serie A champions Juventus for the 27-year-old who has made 40 appearances this season.
He joined Arsenal from Valencia in 2016 in a €40m deal. His current deal with the London side expires in the summer of 2021.
The World Cup winner is one of the players set to leave the Emirates as Unai Emery looks to build his squad to challenge for major titles.
Arsenal are in the final of the UEFA Europa League where they will face fellow London side Chelsea.
