Arsenal open talks with two players

There may still be one big match left to play for Arsenal this season but the Gunners are already preparing for the future as the Premier League side has opened talks with two players according to reports from the media.

It is understood by Goal that Arsenal want to tie down highly-rated youngsters, Tyreece John-Jules and Xavier Amaechi, to new deals at the Emirates Stadium in light of both players attracting interests from Bundesliga teams including Bayern Munich.

Amaechi and John-Jules are currently contracted to the North London side until 2020 but Arsenal know that they will need to demonstrate there is a clear progression plan for both to convince them that staying in north London will be best for their career.

Both youngsters are among a pool of upcoming talents at the Emirates Stadium, with the likes of Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock, and Bukayo Saka featuring with the first team sparingly this season while Emile Smith-Rowe and Reiss Nelson were sent on loan to German Bundesliga clubs to gain more experience having impressed at youth level as well.

Amaechi, who trained with the first-team on Wednesday at London Colney, is reportedly attracting the interest of Bundesliga leaders, Bayern Munich, with the German giants believed to see the 18-year-old winger as having the potential to enjoy the sort of success Jadon Sancho has had with Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho joined Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017 and has seen his stock rise incredibly over the two seasons spent at the Black and Yellows.

His success in the Bundesliga has been an inspiration to other young talents in England, most notably with Brahim Diaz who also left Manchester City for Real Madrid earlier this year in January.

Meanwhile John-Jules is viewed by many as a rare commodity in the modern game, given he is coming through as an out and out striker.

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, took both players away with the first-team in March for the warm-weather training camp in Dubai in a bid to show they were part of his plans going forward.

John-Jules marked his time there by scoring a goal in the friendly against Al-Nasr having come on as a substitute for Alexandre Lacazette, with Amaechi starting the friendly encounter which saw the Gunners come away with a 3-2 win.
