Pochettino reveals what would happen on Wednesday against Ajax despite Premier League defeat

Mauricio Pochettino insists that Tottenham’s struggles against Bournemouth will not have a negative impact on their chances of reaching the Champions League Final.┬áSpurs were forced to play with nine men from the 48th minute of Saturday’s Premier League clash on the south coast, with Heung-min Son and Juan Foyth sent off either side of half-time before Nathan Ake’s late goal sealed a 1-0 win for the Cherries.

Now we are going to recover and try to be ready for Wednesday.”
“We are third, we are competing for the top four, we are in the semi-final of the Champions League – I think if you go back to our first game of the season in the Premier League, everybody would sign to be in the position that we are today.”
Speaking about Son’s sending off, Pochettino said: “Nothing to say. I respect the decision of the referee and move on. You cannot change what happened.” On Foyth’s red card, he added: “I didn’t see it on TV but I need to again respect the decision of the referee.”

“Unlucky for us because first of all it was Sonny and then after three minutes (of the second half) it was Juan. We tried to avoid (red cards) because Toby (Alderweireld) and (Eric) Dier (who were substituted at half-time) had yellow cards.”
