No Messi goal as Sociedad give Barcelona headache in La Liga

Barcelona had to dig deep at home to Real Sociedad before claiming a 2-1 in La Liga on Saturday night, thanks to goals in each half from defenders Clement Lenglet and Jordi Alba.

Lenglet headed in his first league goal for the club in the 44th minute off a corner kick from Ousmane Dembele, before Alba curled in a low drive through a crowd of players to restore Barça’s lead in the 64th minute, two minutes after Juanmi had equalised for Sociedad.

The win took Ernesto Valverde’s side one step closer to retaining the Spanish league title, with Atlético Madrid still nine points behind on the table with five games to go this season after getting a last gasp 1-0 win at Eibar earlier on Saturday.
