Italian Serie A side, AS Roma has launched a Twitter account solely for its Nigerian audience in pidgin English.

This was announced by the club on its website on Wednesday.

“AS Roma is delighted to announce the launch today of a new official Pidgin English Twitter account for fans in Nigeria and neighbouring countries in Africa,” the club stated in its website.

The new account is @ASRomaPidgin on Twitter.

AS Roma is the first European football club to run a social media account for its Nigerian fan.

Roma said it opened the account due to the large followership it enjoys in Nigeria.
