October 1st is here again, another monumental day for Nigerians both home and abroad as we celebrate the 59th anniversary since Nigeria got her independence. It’s a great time to reflect on how far we’ve come as a nation and how far we still need to go.

1.Mercy Aigbe

Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe didn’t fail to bring her slay game to the Independence day celebrations. She dazzled her fans and truly honoured Nigeria in a green and white Ankara outfit with exaggerated sleeves and a matching Ankara Gele.

In simple yet memorable words, she captioned her photo “Happy Independence Day to my beloved country Nigeria ??”

2. Joke Sanwo-Olu

The First Lady of Lagos state, Dr Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, looked classy in her green and white Iro and Buba, she represented her husband, His Excellency Mr Babajide Olusola SanwoOlu, at the Thanksgiving Service held at Chapel of Christ The Light,  to commemorate Nigeria’s 59th Independence Anniversary.

3. Ayoola Ayolola

Nigerian singer and actor, Ayoola, popular for his role as Mide in the Nigerian drama series ‘Skinny Girl in Transit,’ marked Nigeria’s Independence in a regal pose where he seemed to be reflecting on his country.
