Barasa, along with his wife Lilian Weta, lived together as husband and wife for over ten years in Namwitsula, Butula constituency. The couple was constantly experiencing quarrels in their marriage.

Speaking with Standard Digital, Wera said her husband had come back home with Auma, telling her he had a new wife.

“They came in at around 1 am with my husband, and she (Auma) told me that night she was officially the wife,” said Weta.

When Weta stood up to her husband, he told her to search for Auma’s husband and marry him. She summoned the courage to travel to Matayos in search of Bwire after she thought of the constant quarrels she had with her husband.

“My husband told me to go look for Auma’s husband and marry him. I asked him if he would be comfortable with me finding a new husband. He said yes.”

Weta called on her siblings to intimate them with the situation of things. They told her to carry on if that would bring her peace and happiness.

“They told me to do as my husband had said. In the morning I went to Bwire and told him what happened.”

When she found Bwire, she recounted her experience of what happened in Butula.

She told him how his former wife Auma had moved in with her husband and how they told her to search for him in Bwire.

After he heard what happened, Bwire then asked her to go pick her children up and move in with him to Matayos.

Bwire has confirmed that he and Weta were now living together as husband and wife after his ex-wife deserted with without a trace.

“I called Auma several times, but she was not picking my calls, so I gave up,” he said.

He further said that between him and Barasa, one person might regret the decision.

“It is either me or him who will regret afterwards but for now I am happy with my new catch,” Bwire added.

Barasa, when contacted, said that he no longer has any interest in Weta as he was happy with his new marriage.

“If she has accepted to stay with Bwire, so be it.”
