COVID-19: Zambia Records 71 New Cases, 1 Death

 Zambia has recorded 71 new COVID cases out of 209 tests in the last 24 hours.

465 new recoveries from the virus and 1 regrettable new death have been recorded  

This brings the cumulative totals to 4552 cases, with 140 deaths (39 of which have been classified as due to COVID-19) and 2815 recoveries.

Meanwhile, Chikanta of the Tonga in Kalomo is concerned about the high incidences of elopement of Zambian teens in his chiefdom amid COVID-19.

The chief said girls between the age of 13 and 17 have decided to abandon their studies, opting to get married.
He said in an interview yesterday that the closure of schools because of COVID-19 pandemic has seen an increase in early marriages in his chiefdom.
