The nation of Madagascar has made headlines globally after it claimed to have found a herbal-based cure to COVID-19.
The statement has created a lot of reactions internationally with the western world scoffing at the claim while some countries in Africa are inquisitive about the potency of the herbal drug.
A few weeks ago, Nigeria received a batch of the drug and is currently testing it to confirm if the claim is true or not.
Apart from Madagascar, traditional rulers in Nigeria such as the Ooni of Ife have listed herbal ingredients they claim can cure COVID-19.
Presently, the world is paying more attention to drugs and a potential vaccine that can cure the virus.
However, some people are clamouring that herbal-based drugs should also be taken into consideration.
There is also another debate that says herbal drugs are dangerous because they have not been properly assessed for human consumption.
What do you think? Should herbal medicine be taken seriously in the fight against COVID-19?
