Aso ebi is a uniform dress that is traditionally worn in Nigeria and some West African cultures as an indicator of cooperation and solidarity during ceremonies and festive periods. The purpose of wearing the dress can be to serve as self-identification with age mates, relatives or friends during social occasions or funerals. Affordability of fabrics such as Ankara has contributed to the popularity of uniform dressing for social occasions in Nigeria.
I’ve always wondered if we have a wedding season in Nigeria. It seems like there are so many weddings happening at once every weekend. As I speak to you I’ve just received two wedding invitations that would be held on the same day, towns apart.
Wedding ceremonies are a big deal in today’s society and at a certain time, one would receive so much invitation to attend several ceremonies. While am still here pondering on which one to go to I have the mind that I mind end up not picking up any of the asoebi packages. Those who have been in my shoes understand this.

The Ankara fabric makes such an interesting piece literally because there is so much that you can do with it; first, there are the latest Ankara styles where the embellishments are what makes the fabric pop, people use stones to beads to crystals to make sure that they bring out the hidden beauty of the fabric.
