In the Nigerian music industry, there are two female acts who reign as amazons. They are Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage.

While Tiwa Savage leans towards the Nigerian pop genre now embraced as Afrobeats, Yemi Alade has made a name for herself with her style of African-influenced music and visuals.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, it has become a trend to put two artists together in a battle, which is more or less a celebration of their individual achievements.

In Nigeria, we have had producers Shizzi and Sarz go at it, and most recently Nigerian rap stars Naeto C and M.I.

When it comes to the ladies, it is obvious to put up a battle between Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage.

For a while now, both acts have been vocal rivals who have taken public shots at each other. They recently made up at Tiwa Savage’s show last year.

Even though their relationship is cordial now, fans want to see them go at it on Instagram Live by playing 20 of their best hits.
