Yesterday I had the most amazing time. THANK YOU to everyone that showed up & dressed up for #IKSGOT40. Honestly Lagos has never seen such commitment to a costume party. I love that you guys came in on time too (just like we asked). I’ve taken that as special love for me. I love you guys. Hmm… Thank you @kidskulture for putting EVERYTHING together. And I mean EVERYTHING. You left nothing out. No “Planner” could have done better. From the Iron throne, to the MicroThrone (microphone throne ?), to the House flags, the dragon eggs, the mapped tables, the show quotes, the wall, the archery area, to even cutlery and the Ale. Girl you killed it. @basketmouth you are a killer. Nobody would have hosted better. NOBODY!!! Thank you. @officialwaje I’ll forever be in your corner @iamdrsid my boy. I love you bro. @johnnydrille you’ll forever be special @maiatafo thanks for giving away the prize. Brother for life. @dvenueeventscentre thanks for all the concessions/flexibility @ksquaresecurity thanks for dressing the security as unsullied @bigfishentertainment thanks for the screens. You really nailed it. @tashbistro your food has never failed me and neither has your friendship. @grindgrillcafe you have started giving small chops a run for its money @ofadaboy thanks for dressing all your servers appropriately and serving the best Ale. @chloescupcakeheaven you were such a pleasant surprise. @cakesbyhazel that cake was amazing. I was reluctant to cut it. @livvystwist your cake was sooo beautiful. HBO would be proud. @justacakeng your chocolate cake was delicious. It was finished in an hour. @supreme_drinks & @mandiescocktails thanks for keeping it flowing with the “MORE WINE” requests. @cinematicsng you always kill it @libraneyephotography so chilled, yet always effective @uzorugoala thanks for always delivering too @cafejadelagos there wasn’t anything you served that I didn’t love. @naphtalieventsandrentals & @flexy_dj thank you. Happy birthday to IK.

Meanwhile, after 18 years as establishing himself as one of the most famous voices on Lagos radio, IK Osakioduwa months ago announced that he will be leaving Rhythm 93.7.

He made this known on Saturday, March 2, 2019 on his Instagram account.

“So I have decided guys, after 18 years of working for Silverbird, that it is time to hang up my boots… My silverbird boots and let someone else fill those shoes so I am moving on from working on Rhythm 93.7 but we will go out with a bang alright.

“There is no beef. I still love the company. I gotta say thank you to Ben Bruce for allowing me to grow and flourish under his tutelage.”

Osakioduwa started his career at Rhythm initially known as the ‘Wild Child’. He has also hosted a number of television shows including Studio 53, Temptation Nigeria and Big Brother Africa.

IK was born in Lagos, Nigeria to homemaker Felicia Oviawe and Brigadier General Samuel Oviawe, he is the middle child of five children.

He graduated from King’s College, Lagos and then studied Economics at the University of Lagos. While studying he took part in many stage plays and concerts, where he discovered and groomed his talent as a Master of Ceremonies/Host. After graduating from University in 2001, Osakioduwa worked for Rhythm 93.7 FM, as a presenter popularly known as The Wild Child (thanks to his humorous and unpredictable personality).

However, in compliance with the National Youth Service Corps, which is a one-year mandatory service of all graduate Nigerians, he had to leave the radio station to serve in a neighbouring state. He also worked in an advertising firm as a Client Service Executive, and in 2005 he returned to the radio station, Rhythm 93.7, and retained the name The Wild Child.
