Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley has been released on bail.
After the charges were read to him in the presence of Justice Nicholas Oweibo, he pleaded ‘ not guilty’.
The embattled singer pleaded ‘not guilty’ in the early hours of today to the 11 count charge preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
It had been reported that the Federal High Court that presided in Lagos ordered that Naira Marley should be remanded in prison custody pending the hearing of his bail application.
Justice Oweibo however slated the 30th of May for the hearing of bail application.
However, a video that recently surfaced online shows that the sensational rap star was able to fulfill his bail application. The rapper was seen entering a vehicle and living police custody after he was released.
In the video, the rapper was seen smiling and celebrating his release with his friends and family who came to pick him up. In another clip, he was seen sitting in a room with more people who had waited for him to arrive and celebrate.
Meanwhile earlier today, Tiwa Savage’s estranged husband, Teebillz had joined the rundown of individuals who have called out Ruggedman since the arrest of Naira Marley.
The talent manager cum music executive made his disappointments known on Monday, May 20, 2019, via his Instagram page. Teebillz prayed that Naira Marley can endure the hardship as he experiences his court charges. He at that point went after Ruggedman over his remarks on Naira Marley prior to his arrest.
“May the grace of God be sufficient for the needs of this talented young man during his trials…… we all make mistakes and my personal take is that most of this young guys don’t know better and I feel it’s our obligation as the older ones to put them right instead of just calling them out on social media for unnecessary validation! OG Rugged Man, I hope you can do that sh1t privately next time sir! I know you don’t want that smoke with me, bro, if you take my message the other way bros!” he wrote.
Teebillz’ statement is coming on the heels of Naira Marley’s arraignment before a court where he is being charged for Internet fraud.
Speaking of public figures who have voiced their opinion on Naira Marley’s EFCC case, Oritsefemi happens to be one of them.
The singer revealed that Yahoo Boys spend their money on themselves and never help struggling artistes in the entertainment industry.
He further revealed that none of his fraudster friends has ever assisted him financially despite the extravagant lifestyles they lead.
“How many artistes Yahoo Boy don buy car for?” he asked in an interview on HipTV.
“We can see politicians buying cars for artistes. Let’s call spade a spade. Yahoo boys are helping themselves, not other people.
“Artistes in the entertainment industry are struggling by themselves.
“Since I’ve known some of my yahoo friends, they’ve never helped me. If they can help me, I’ll agree.
“We see artistes struggling but yahoo boys are out enjoying themselves. If they can help the industry, I’ll be happy,” the ‘Double Wahala’ crooner said.
Oritsefemi’s comments come amid the public outcries about the increasing rate of internet fraudsters who give the country a bad name and image overseas.
