While many are yet to recover from the painful departure of one of Nigeria’s best in broadcasting, Tosyn Bucknor another veteran has left planet earth.
It has been reported that veteran On-air personality, and staff of Peace FM, Maa Afia Konadu took ill after her retirement and died in the United States of America. The broadcaster died on Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
The late radio personality, Henrietta Twum aka Maa Afia started her journey to fame as a teacher before she ventured into radio by joining the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC). She stood out during her time at GBC and was then recruited by Osei Kwame of Peace FM which had just begun at the time.
15 years into the game, the became a household name and Peace FM grew to become one of the most popular in Ghana. During her time, she brought up and hosted shows like Wo Haw Ne Sɛn? and Asomdwoe Nkomo which had experts providing solutions to problems listeners were facing. Apart from her shows, Maa Afia featured prominently in many of the Akan language commercials that were played on radio.

She retired from Peace FM in 2015 at the age of 65 years, 45 of which had been spent working. Maa Afia would have been 69 on November 17.
