Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme are one of the Nollywood actors who are inspiration to younger generations in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Breaking out after the release of their 2003 blockbuster movie, Aki na Ukwa which sold millions of copies across Nigeria, both actors still wax stronger in the entertainment scene as they keep featuring in movies and headlining different shows both in Nigeria, Africa and the United States of America.
The story of Aki and Paw Paw is one that inspires even the hopeless. Considering the fact that both Nollywood actors were born deficient, they never allowed their physical appearance to affect their big dreams of hitting it big in the entertainment industry and attaining the celebrity status.
With their comic style of acting, they churned out hundreds of movies which put smiles on the faces of Nigerians who were their fans at the time and even present.
In a manner of speaking, the Aki and Paw Paw brand, is one of the strongest in Nollywood as it houses two highly intelligent characters, who are sheer funny and smart in the entertainment business. With that brand, they were able to achieve great things together and still are.
16 years after their breakthrough movie, Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme have proven to the entertainment world that they have come to stay. But the question in the mouth of so many is, who is really hitting it big and getting most of the money bag between the two actors-turned friends?
Both actors are winning in their own different ways, individually and collectively. While their movie earnings keep going up every year as the industry evolves, they also keep getting movie scripts from directors for collective and single roles. Conventionally, both actors have advanced in their acting career as they both features in cinematic movies and series. While Chinedu Ikedieze features in The Johnsons, Osita Iheme features in Professor Johnbull.
In an interview with Scenevoice.com, Chinedu Ikedieze Aki who features in the MNET movie series, The Johnsons talked about his role in the sitcom and how he longed to be in a more professional set unlike the regular Nollywood scenes he was used to in the past: “being in the series was an opportunity I longed for, because I believe I had done both cinematic movies and home videos so I felt I needed to do one or two series, something different and am loving it even though its time consuming. It is one of the best TV series and family show.”
Also during an interview with Daily Advent Osita Iheme Paw Paw, the actor who is nicknamed The Don by his close pals encouraged his fans to watch Professor Johnbull series which is a movie powered by telecommunication giants, Glo. “They should go to my Youtube page and watch my series, ‘Professor Johnbull,” said Paw Paw.
Outside entertainment, the actors are also entrepreneurs who have many businesses to their names.
Osita Iheme runs a hotel business, ”The Resident Suite” which is situated in Owerri, Imo State, A music record label, ”Young Boss Records” he owns a farm, a football academy, and as well an agency which runs importation of goods among other businesses.
Chinedu Ikedieze on his own runs an exquisite bar in Surulere, a football agancy among so many other businesses which are underground.
While it is important to note that both actors compliment themselves in so many ways and have achieved a lot as friends and colleagues, suffix is to say that they are both winners in their own right.
Both actors share so many things in common, height, career among others. LOL
The only difference is the fact that Chinedu Ikedieze is married and Osita Iheme is still very much single like a Pringle.
Which of them is your favourite actor, Osita Iheme ”Paw Paw” or Chinedu Ikedieze ”Aki”?
