This was Davido’s second nomination to represent Africa in the category that recognises one artist from different continents.

Meanwhile, Davido is set to perform alongside Grammy-nominated artist J. Cole at the 2019 maiden edition of the Dreamville festival.

The ‘Fall’ singer took to his Instagran handle to announce his engagement in the festival, which will be staged at Raleigh’s Dorothea Dix Park in North Carolina on April 6.

The line-up of artists expected to participate in this year’s inaugural Dreamville Festival are J. Cole, SZA, Big Sean, 21 Savage, 6LACK, Nelly, Teyana Taylor, J.I.D., Rapsody, Cozz, Saba, Earthgang, Ari Lennox, Omen, Lute and Mez.

The festival, which will be headlined by J Cole, was initially scheduled for September 15, 2018. It was however postponed due to Hurricane Florence — a category 4 hurricane which affected both North and South Carolina last year.

In a related news, Davido’s “Fall” made history once again — climbing to the highest spot by an African artist on the American radio chart — the singer has since teased a “big remix”.

While we speculated that the Busta Rhymes and Prayah remix for “Fall” (which came shortly after his announcement) was the remix Davido was referring to, the afropop titan promises an even bigger collaborator, and we have reason to believe it’s J. Cole.

Look closely to the cars sound system in the video below to see the feature.

During his US press run, Davido sat down with Ebro to discuss his plans for the future. As well as promising us an album this year and sharing his hopes of hosting a show at the prestigious Madison Square Gardens, Davido also revealed that he’s still yet to drop that “big remix” for “Fall”.

While this revelation certainly cleared up the fact that the Busta Rhymes and Prayah remix was just a warm-up for the main event, Davido continued to withhold the official remix’s featured artist, keeping us guessing still.

Now, after a recent Instagram post silently exposing an unreleased Davido track featuring J. Cole, we can’t help but assume that the Grammy-nominated, record-shattering rapper is the big star Davido has enlisted for the remix.

Of course, Davido frequently collaborates with American artists, so this collaboration with J. Cole might be an entirely new song. Still, either outcome is incredibly exciting, and we cannot wait to hear what both stars deliver on a track together.
