It is no longer news that legendary producer, Don Jazzy is known for his high sense of humor and obsession with Rihanna. And this time he photoshopped Rihanna and himself into the popular nude photo of Beyonce and Jay Z posted during their tour. Sharing this new photo on his Instagram page, Don Jazzy tagged Rihanna and wrote, “@badgalriri baby why are you not smiling for the photo? She will just reply me, go and brush your teeth Jazzy.” Recall that this is not the first time Don Jazzy is photoshopping himself in a photo with Rihanna.
Michael Collins Ajereh popularly known as Don Jazzy was born November 26, 1982 in Umahia, Abia state. His family later moved to Ajegunle- a Lagos district known for producing footballers and musicians. From the age of four Don Jazzy started showing interest in music. By the age of 12 he had started playing the bass guitar. He studied Business Management at Ambrose Alli University before he moved to London in 2000. He did a couple of odd jobs before settling with Nigerian producer JJC who had made a name for himself in the British music scene already.
After perfecting his production craft, Don Jazzy partnered with D’banj and formed Mo’ Hits Records when they moved back to Nigeria in 2004.Their partnership which ran for eight years is regarded as Nigeria’s best dynamic duo of producer and artiste.Don Jazzy not only helped establish D’banj as the country’s most foremost entertainer, he also helped create Wande Coal’s career and make Mo’ Hits the number one record label in the country.
Don Baba J as he is also called produced D’banj’s three albums (‘No Long Thing’, ‘Rundown/Funk You Up’ and ‘Entertainer’) as well as the Mo’ Hits compilation album ‘Curriculum Vitae’ and Wande Coal’s debut album ‘Mushin 2 Mo ’Hits’.In 2011 he got noticed by Kanye West who signed him as a producer to his imprint ‘G.O.O.D Music’. Don Jazzy went on to co-produce ‘Lift Off’ by Kanye West and Jay Z featuring Beyoncé on the ‘Watch The Throne’ album.
By 2012 Don Jazzy and D’banj went their separate ways and that was the end of Mo’ Hits. On May 7, 2012 Don Jazzy created a new record label known as Mavin Records. The initial artists on the imprint were Dr. Sid, D’Prince, Wande Coal and Tiwa Savage. Wande Coal left the imprint the following year.After producing successful albums for Dr. Sid, D’Prince and Tiwa Savage, Don Jazzy signed three new acts to his label- Reekado Banks, Di’Ja and Korede Bello. In 2014 Don Jazzy featured and produced the all-star Mavin monster song ‘Dorobucci’. Today Don Jazzy is one of the most valuable celebrities in the whole of Africa.
