It’s her choice… Charlyboy throws weight behind lesbian daughter

Anger curdles with warning leaps out of Charlyboy’s soul, like lance from the palms of a troubled knight, as he has come out to reply critics who were saying rubbish about his lesbian daughter. “For Those going Gagas over my Princess Dewy’s post. Hear This. The best thing about being true to yourself is that nobody can insult you by telling you what you have just told them.

Acceptance has to come from, within. I am blessed with beautiful Children and grandchildren. Love em All. Thank you, God,” he wrote. However, if you look deeply enough, you just might find that it is daddy’s trust fund and mummy’s deep pockets that intoxicates Dewy Oputa, like poisonous rum stupefies the fun-loving lady. It came as a rude shock to many a Nigerian when Charly Boy’s daughter, Dewy Oputa, revealed on social media that she is a lesbian.

She posted this on her Instagram page some days ago, by sharing photos and a video of herself and her girlfriend. “My mission for creating a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer platform is to provide a safe place for youths in the African community. I strive to create an accepting and welcoming community where everyone is free to express themselves and be loved for who they are.

Might need an intervention for this new dimension. #kSG ??

I want a place where individuals such as myself can create authentic friendships and thrive as the person they were born to be.” Dewy, however, admitted that it was not easy for her parents when she revealed her sexuality to them. “I can’t pinpoint the exact age I found out about my sexuality, but I was much younger. When I came out to my parents, it took them a while to adjust but my happiness comes first.

I don’t feel bad about the negative comments my sexuality post has generated. I knew Nigerians would always have negative things to say and I was mentally prepared for it. I’m not here to sway anybody’s point of view; I’m here to bring awareness,” she said.
