One of the very famous fashion entrepreneurs in the country, Laura Ikeji Kanu, has said that she is against flogging of children in schools and that she wants the Government to punish those who do it.
Ikeji kanu who is a sister to popular blogger, Linda Ikeji, revealed this via a tweet with the words:
“Dear Nigerian Government, can u make flogging children illegal in schools?? I know the law was passed I think a few years ago but some schools still do it. Let’s enforce it, u flog a child u loose ur job and get charged to court. We’re not animals. Kids are off limits.”

Her tweet is coming as reports of violence against kids continues to be on the rise. Recently, a father was reported to have flogged his daughter to death in Akure, while another beat his daughter up so badly she’s currently struggling to see with just one eye.
