This is not the first time, a story of ill treatment of Nigerians in Togo has surfaced.
Recall that earlier this years, when the President of the Global Society for Anti-Corruption in Nigeria, Mr. Franklin Ezeona, petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari on the plight of Nigerians in Togo Prisons, it was uncovered that over 200 Nigerians are languishing in Togo prisons for between six and ten years without trials or convictions.
According to the revelation back in April this year, most of the inmates were being forced to sleep on bare floors in small prison rooms and are also subjected to inhuman treatment by prison officials, exposing them to debilitating health conditions.
