TRAGEDY! Heartless Gunmen Send Innocent Man To Early Grave As Another Man Does This Evil To A Small Child

Another sad tragedy has struck as some unknown gunmen reportedly murdered a man who manages a hotel in Edo State.
 
According to Daily Trust, gunmen suspected to be cultists on Sunday shot dead the manager of a popular hotel in Benin, the Edo State capital. It was gathered that the deceased, Okunkpolor Osatohanmwen Von, 43, was hit by a bullet  in his office located  in Upper Sokponba area, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the state when two cult groups engaged in shooting spree in the area.
 
 
The gunmen were said to have fled the scene before police operatives attached to Ugbekun Division arrived the scene.

During a condolecence visit yesterday by the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to the window of the deceased, Anita Otasowie Okunkpolor, who works with a community newspaper in the state, her elder sister, Stella Maikudi, said her sister was called by an anonymous caller that her husband has been shot dead.

When contacted, the police spokesman, DSP Chidi Nwanbuzor said the deceased was killed during a fight between two rival cult groups (Aye and Eiye) at the premises of the hotel located at Erediauwa Street, Upper Sokponba area on  February 17.
 
“Two rival groups (Aye and Eiye) engaged themselves in a shoot out at the premises of the hotel. The manager, was hit by a bullet and unfortunately, he died”, he said. He said the police is on top of the situation.
 
Meanwhile, the NUJ chairman, Roland Osakue has called for an independent inquiry into the alleged murder.

In another development, an Ikeja Chief Magistrate Court, yesterday, remanded a 60-year-old teacher, Benjamin Omole, who allegedly defiled his 11-year-old pupil in a school toilet.
 
The chief magistrate, Mrs Olufunke Sule-Amzat, ordered that the defendant be kept in the  Kirikiri Prisons, Lagos State, pending advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.
 
The defendant, a resident of Oke-Ona Close in Ifako Ijaiye area of Lagos, pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr Benson Emuerhi, had told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 16, at the premises of  Atunda-Olu  School for Special Needs, Adam Orisha Street, Surulere, Lagos.
 
“After much questioning, the victim said the defendant gave her N100 after taking her to the school’s toilet. The defendant took the victim to the school’s toilet, fondled her and had sexual intercourse with her,” he submitted.
 
The case was adjourned until April 4 for mention.
