EFCC Declares War On Ladoke Akintola University Of Technology Students Over Yahoo Crimes (Photos)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly declared waron the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH students over cyber crimes.

The EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu, at a meeting held on Thursday, February 7 stated that the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) students cases of cybercrime is different and there are special plans that are already set aside for the students in the school.

Stating further, Ibrahim Magu said; “Due to this fact, I will want them (the students who are into cyber crimes in the school) to get themselves ready as the EFCC officials will start action concerning the institution any moment from now”.

EFCC, Abuja zonal office, has arrested 10 suspected internet fraudsters, following intelligence report of their suspicious activities. The suspects are, Triumph Chikwendu Madumere, Success Chukwumazu Obasi, Jamila Shuaibu, Bright Idumwonyi Osaigboko, and Obasi Wisdom. Others are Idemudia Emmanuel, Sandra Alang, Stanley Ohiaeri, Samuel Tochukwu, and Ikechukwu David Ohiaeri.
They were arrested at Karu and Mpape settlements of Abuja, on February 7, 2019. Items recovered from them include, 3 Mercedes Benz cars, five laptops, 10 handsets, ATM cards and other incriminating documents. They will soon be charged to court.

Recall that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office have arrested seven more suspected internet fraudsters. The suspects include Ola Sam, Demeji Abiola, Segun Isaac, Oyinloye Jubril, Bamidele Adeboyega, Hassan Afeez, and Sanni Muyideen.

 

They were rounded up at Poly Road and Sanyo area of Ibadan, Oyo State, on February 1 and 4, 2019.Their arrest followed action on a series of intelligence report linking them with various forms of Internet fraud.They were alleged to be involved in love scam on different dating sites, through which they fraudulently obtain money from unsuspecting victims.

At the point of arrest, EFCC operatives recovered two different models of exotic cars, laptops, telephones and several documents containing false pretenses, including international passports, and ATM cards. They will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is completed.
