A part of the pedestrian bridge in front of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church Yaba fell on this truck as it was passing by this morning

Although not frequently used, the pedestrian bridge mostly acts as a shade to most traffic hawkers who use the bridge as shelter when the sun is at its best.

A few moments ago, there was a loud BANG as commuters and cars scattered to different directions in anticipation of the worst. The bridge collapsed in one swoop taking a truck that was caught up under the disaster at that particular time.

As seen in the pictures, the lorry took most of the crash and luckily, as confirmed by one of the first officers at the location, no lives were lost.
