Tragedy on Christmas day as Fire from fallen tanker kills three, burns shops and houses in Port Harcourt

Recently in Nigeria, tanker fire explosion has been on the increase. it was a black christmas for residence of Rumuola in Port Harcourt River state as fire from a fallen tanker burned down shops, houses, and also killed three people.

The incident reportedly occurred at Rumuola, and the fallen tanker spilled its content into the drain extending from Rumuola to MOPOL-nineteen. It was gathered that fire from the fallen tanker, burned from the drains, torched shops around Rumoula and stretched to G.R.A Phase Four to burn houses.

 

 

Eyewitnesses also blamed slow response of the Rivers state Fire Service, for the level damage done by the fire.One Chibuchi who spoke to a Daily Post correspondent said;

“I am angry because of the magnitude of what I have lost here. When the fire started we were calling Fire Service but they were not responding. And this is not the kind of fire that ordinary people can quench.

“The fire was burning from Rumuola down to this MOPOL-19, If not for the MFM Church that came to the rescue, the damage would have been worse than this.”
