Lagos PDP Secretary, Dosunmu Shodipe Is Dead

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos has lost its Secretary, Muiz Dosunmu Shodipe.

Taofik Gani, the Publicity Secretary, made the announcement in a statement.

The spokesman described Shodipe’s demise as a great loss.

The party noted that the occurrence may slow the reengineering of the platform in Lagos.

Gani said the PDP has submitted to the will of God and prayed for the repose of the departed.

The chapter further prayed for the family to have the fortitude to bear the loss.

The party directed all her flags across the state be flown at half-mast and organisation of special prayers.

The news came two weeks after death of All Progressives Congress (APC) Treasurer in Lagos, Sumbo Ajose.

The 55-year-old passed away in the United States of America after an illness.

Alleged Indictment of DCP Abba Kyari: Inspector-General of Police Orders a Review of the Information

Sequel to the receipt of allegation and indictment processes from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) against one of the personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, DCP Abba Kyari, the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba psc (+), NPM, fdc has ordered an internal review of the allegations.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirms its commitment to the pursuit of justice and the strengthening of its professional relationship with the FBI and other international partners.

Further developments on this case will be communicated to members of the public accordingly.

Buhari Meets British PM, Promises Non-Interference With Judicial Trial of Terrorism Suspects

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson that he won’t interfere with the judicial trial of terrorism suspects in Nigeria.

This is just as Britain pledges to assist Nigeria to tackle security problems facing all the regions that make up the country.

Media Adviser to the President, Femi Adesina in a release disclosed that President Buhari
and PM Johnson Thursday appraised the war against different forms of terrorism in Nigeria, and agreed that the judicial process be allowed to run its course.

Holding bilateral talks at the sidelines of the Global Education Summit in London, the two leaders said it was important that the judicial process runs without interference, no matter who was involved.

President Buhari briefed the Prime Minister on Nigeria’s power needs and efforts being made, as well as initiatives geared at achieving food security.

He also reviewed the security situation in the different regions of the country, while PM Johnson pledged Britain’s preparedness to lend a helping hand.
“We are available to help,” Johnson said.

The two leaders equally discussed how to increase trade between the two countries, develop solar and wind power, leadership of the Commonwealth going forward and other matters of mutual interest.

Horror! Gunmen Kidnap Popular Nightclub Owner In Bayelsa

According to a report by SaharaReporters, some unknown gunmen have kidnapped a popular nightclub owner identified as Tari Ajanami in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

Ajanami, an indigene of Ayamasa town in the Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state, was abducted around 6pm on Wednesday at his building project site along Otiotio Road in the state capital.

Ajanami is the 43-year-old owner of the popular nightclub, Club 64, along the Bay Ridge area of Yenagoa and he also works as a cash officer at Wema Bank.

SaharaReporters gathered that the victim was at his building site to pay workers when the gunmen whisked him away to an unknown destination.

While some eyewitnesses claim the abduction may be connected to his recent lavish birthday celebration, others argue that he may have been kidnapped for a ransom.

When contacted, spokesman for the state police command, Asinim Butswat, said, “On 28 July 2021 at about 2100 hours, three armed men kidnapped one Oyintari Ajanani, male, 43, at Otiotio, Yenagoa.

“All operatives have been alerted and are on the trail of the suspects.”

Police Foil Robbery Attack On Bullion Van In Ondo

Operatives of the Ondo police command foiled an attempt by armed robbers to attack a bank bullion van.

The incident was said to have happened in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government where the robbers attempted to rob the bullion van belonging to an old generation bank

It was gathered that after the failed attempt, security operatives were stationed in different locations, causing panic among residents.

According to one of the residents, “it was an unsuccessful attack on a Bank’s bullion van going to Akure. One person sustained an injury and has been taken to the hospital. The robbers didn’t succeed, though no arrest was made yet. The situation is calm now.”

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Tee-Leo Ikoro said the move by the robbers was repelled.

This is coming about two weeks after some robbers laid siege on a bank at Ilara-Mokin in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state, where three lives were lost including a journalist, Bunmi Afuye.

Chairman and chief executive officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Buba Marwa has directed senior officers of the agency to ensure that all drug cartels in the country are crushed.

Speaking during a ceremony to decorate newly promoted deputy commanders-general of narcotics and assistant commanders-general of narcotics, (ACGNs) on Thursday July 29 in Abuja, he said the new exercise will be part of the agency’s efforts to ensure that the nation’s anti-drug war succeeds.

Woman loses custody of her son after subjecting him to severe abuse in Nigeria

A mother was arrested for continuously abusing her son and she has now lost custody of the child.

According to neighbours, the woman “swore to kill the boy because he’s badluck.”

The woman got pregnant for a man who ended up marrying another woman and she’s said to have taken out her anger on her young son.

Concerned neighbours got the woman arrested and her son was taken from her and handed over to his father.
