Aminu Bello Masari: The Giant Strides Of Kastina Governor

A performing governor will attract accolades that are justifiable. So, it is logical and predictable that Kastina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari is enjoying an abundance of accolades.

Under the leadership  Aminu Bello Masari, Kastina State has experienced growth and development across all sectors. In these years, the  Masari-led administration garnered immense acclaim for its strong determination to ensure even development in all sector. From roads, water, to agriculture, health, housing and education, the present administration has recorded giant strides in Kastina state.

His Excellency Aminu Bello Masari, though from a humble background is a man of many parts destined by God to be great.  The former civil servant, commissioner and two-time lawmaker  was at a time the speaker of the house. Owing to his integrity, prudence, intelligence and humility, his colleagues then did everything to ensure he became speaker of the house. The same leadership qualities he possesses have come to the fore in kastina State.

Recently, he renovated and upgraded the Liaison office of the state to a 21st century standard for less than 350 million naira, which shows that he is a man of prudence. Salaries are paid regularly, pensioners are also not left out and over 4000 schools have been rehabilitated to standard. Also, roads projects are currently ongoing in very part of the state while women are being empowered.

The frugal governor never believes in waste and does not approve over inflated projects which is why he has been able to manage the meagre resources of the state to the admiration and envy of all.

Born on May 29, 1950, Aminu Bello Masari was the Commissioner for works, housing and transport Katsina state from 1991 to 1993. He was the speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007. Masari hails from Masari village of Kafur local government, Katsina State.

Masari contested for the office of Katsina State Governor in the 2011 election under the platform of defunct Congress for Progressive Change. He lost the Election to PDP’s Ibrahim Shehu Shema.

In December 2014, he emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the March 2015 elections. Aminu Bello was declared winner of the 11th April 2015 Katsina State Governorship election, defeating Musa Nashuni.

Aminu Bello Masari was sworn in as the Executive Governor of Katsina State on 29 May 2015.
