Banji Akintoye has raised the alarm over plans by terrorists to attack Yoru­ba land.

The former senator said places of worship like the Redemption camp, bridges would be targeted.

Going further, he called on governors to do every­thing to stop the attack.

In a letter to state gov­ernors in the Southwest, Prof. Banji Akintoye has alleged that the entire region has already been surrounded by terrorists.

Akintoye, who is the leader of Ilana Omo Oo­dua, the umbrella body for Yoruba self-determi­nation groups, said it is necessary for the gover­nors to do something to safeguard the lives and property of the people.

He said the terrorists were ready to strike any moment from now.

Banji Akintoye has alerted governors in the South-West that the en­tire region has already been surrounded by ter­rorists.

Ebonyi Commissioner For Housing And Urban Development Is Dead

The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Wendy Uchechi Okah is dead.

Her death was disclosed in a Facebook post by the Special Assistant to Governor David Nweze Umahi on Inter-party and Labour Matters, Mrs. Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor.

The deceased politician reportedly died on Friday.

“So saddened.. one of the women I love…Engr Uchechi Wendy Okah, Hon. Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development to Ebonyi State Governor before her death this morning….she was a hard-working woman and a heroine…we will surely miss you,” Adibe-Nwafor said.

Nigerian First Ladies have raised alarm over the rising spate of insecurity and killings blowing across the country.

They also urged their spouses, the 36 States’ governors and Security Chiefs, to fashion out ways to end the insecurity trend across the country.

The Governors’ wives said they were deeply pained and agonized by the recurrent killings of Nigerians by insurgents and bandits, of which mothers and children were the worst hit.

Lightning Kills 18 Elephants In India

No fewer than 18 wild Asiatic elephants have been discovered dead in India’s Eastern State of Assam.

Reports say the villagers woke up on Thursday to discover the lifeless bodies of 14 adult elephants.

Another four bodies were found scattered on the foothills of the Kundoli reserve forest area of Assam, 160 kilometres from the state capital of Dispur, local wildlife official, M.K Yadava.

You Can’t Arrest Mike Ozekhome for Criticizing Ibrahim Magu – Court Warns EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has been stopped by a Federal High Court in Abuja from arresting Nigerian lawyer, Mike Ezekhome.

The court on Thursday, restrained the EFCC, from inviting, harassing, threatening to arrest or detain him.

The EFCC had wanted to arrest the lawyer for for criticising its former Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

The court, in a judgment that was delivered by Justice Inyang Ekwo, held that serial acts of intimidation and constant invitations the anti-graft agency extended to the senior lawyer, as well as threats to arrest, detain and humiliate him, over publications and speeches he made “in respect of the apparent opaqueness and lopsidedness of the corruption fight of the 1st Respondent (EFCC) under the leadership of the 2nd Respondent (Magu)”, were illegal, unlawful, wrongful, unconstitutional.

Singer-songwriter, Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, popularly called Peruzzi, has revealed that he plans to settle down with his wife and two kids in California in six years.
The ‘Rum and Boogie’ singer, who rose to stardom after he signed to Davido Music Worldwide in 2018, recently appeared on Joey Akan’s ‘Afrobeats Intelligence.’

According to him, he does not plan to remain in the music industry forever and the one thing he would be holding onto in the nearest future alongside his family is ‘weed’.

He said, “Like my mum used to say: ‘Even if you no know where you dey come from, no forget where you dey go. I feel like you can’t just be existing. You have to be living. In the sense that, you have to be about something.

Four Foreign Bandits Operating In Northwest Nigeria Nabbed

A notorious foreign bandit and his gang terrorizing Nigeria Northwest have been arrested in Zamfara State.

The foreign bandit and his four accomplices were paraded at the Gusau Police Command on Friday.

The spokesman of Zamfara Police Command, Shehu Mohammed said the suspects were arrested as a result of the teamwork between the police and the leaders of the Zamfara Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).

The suspects who allegedly terrorize Northwest states of Kaduna, Katsina and Zamfara as well as Niger State in the north-central zone, had in their possession four AK-49 rifles, nine magazines, 960 live ammunition with assorted charms when they were arrested.
