Suspects herders, Monday, evening killed about 18 natives of Egedegede, Obegu and Amuzu communities in Ishielu North development centre, Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi state .

The suspected herdsmen were said to have invaded the communities from Enugu axis.

Though the actual number of casualties were yet to be known, a resident of the community who spoke on anonymity said 18 persons were killed by the herdsmen, while another resident said 10 were killed.

“We are mourning, we are in serious mourning since late hours of Monday. Herdsmen invaded our communities and massacred our people. As we speak, 18 persons were slaughtered like animals. They macheted many of our people, burnt vehicles, motorcycles and looted our properties,” the resident said.

Tinubu Begs For Forgiveness

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Lagos state governor and national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday said he committed an accidental verbal mistake when he asked the Federal Government to recruit 50 million youths into the Nigerian Army in a bid to oust the insurgents and miscreants threatening the nation’s peace.

In a statement issued by his media office, Tinubu said he meant 50,000 youths and not 50 million youths, which is about a quarter of Nigeria’s population.

Daredevil armed robbers on Tuesday afternoon invaded the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Issele-Uku branch, headquarters of Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta state and carted away some amounts of money yet to be ascertained.

The robbers were armed to the teeth, our correspondent gathered.

They unleashed mayhem on the bank, destroying properties as workers and customers scampered to safety.

Father Of Six Children Arrested For Allegedly Raping Neighbour’s Daughter

The Police in Yola, Adamawa State, on Tuesday arrested a father of six children for alleged sexual assault of his neighbour’s 9-year-old girl.

DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, the Police Public Relation Officer of the state Command, disclosed this in a statement in Yola.

Nguroje said that the suspect was a resident of Demsawo ward in Yola North Local Government Area and was arrested on March 29.

The statement read in part: “The Adamawa State police command on 29/3/2021 apprehended a 47-year-old suspect for sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl.

30 Cows Die Mysteriously In Ondo

No fewer than 30 cows have mysteriously died in Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Though the cause of the death of the cows is still unknown, residents of the community have become apprehensive following the discovery of the dead cows.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Monday night at the Ibaka area of the community where the state-owned Adekunle Ajasin University is located.

Nigeria Defeats Lesotho In Nations Cup Qualifiers

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday thrashed the Crocodiles of Lesotho three goals to nil in their final Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen gave Super Eagles their first goal 22nd into the match while Oghenekaro Etebo doubled the Nigerian team lead in the 51st minute.

Paul Onuachu who came in for Osimhen in the 74th minutes scored nine minute after.

Though the Super Eagles have long qualified for the showpiece event in Cameroon after Lesotho and Sierra Leone played out a 0-0 draw last Saturday.
