Court Sentences Ex-SARS Officer To Death For Killing Businessman, Stealing N.3m

AHigh Court sitting in Benin, the Edo State capital, has sentenced to death by hanging a dismissed constable, Joseph Omotosho, who was attached to the defunct Special Anti-robbery Squad, Edo State Police Command.

Four others, Adeleke Adedeji, Abena John, Oniyo Musa and Henry Shobowole, who escaped in the twin jailbreak during the #EndSars protest last October, had their sentences suspended.

Bauchi Governor Explains Comments On Herders Carrying Ak-47 Rifles For Self Defence

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, on Sunday, explained himself over a comment he made about herdsmen carrying Ak-47 rifles for self defence, a statement issued by Mukhtar Gidado, his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on media, said.

PREMUM TIMES reported how Mr Mohammed and his Benue counterpart, Samuel Ortom, disagreed over the issue of herders carrying guns in order to protect themselves and cattle from rustlers.

APC Plans To Pair Jonathan With El-Rufai For 2023 Presidential Ticket

The All Progressives Congress is considering giving a joint ticket to former President Goodluck Jonathan and Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, for the 2023 presidential election.

Top sources within the party told SaharaReporters that Jonathan is being considered as a strong voice in the southern region, while El-Rufai is being packaged to represent northern interests and later become the president when the presidency is again zoned to the North.

11 Buried, Over 5,000 Displaced In Ibadan

No fewer than 11 persons were reportedly buried on Sunday in the aftermath of the clash between Yoruba and Hausa residents of Shasa Market in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State.

DAILY POST recalls that a chaos broke out in the State on Thursday when a Hausa man and a Yoruba trader clashed, leading to the death of many residents.
